Happy New Year everyone! For the first gin in 2023 we have selected a very special one. While celebrating the „Rauhnächte“ with some smoking ceremonies we tasted the Holy Trinity limited edition from GinOrgasmic. Besides Coconut and Orange you can also enjoy hints of rum and vanilla. We tried it neat at 18 degrees Celsius (62 degrees Farenheit). A sweet and exotic way to welcome the new year! Two traditions at one picture. While we were preparing the tasting in the garden, the traditional Swiss "Alpabzug" took place. The herds of cows that have spent the summer on the alp are led home in costume and decorated.
You can still guess it in the background. But the gin is in the foreground. A very fine gin from the far north of germany. From the island of Sylt. Made by three friends who produce their gin with heart and soul and in deep connection with the island. And you can taste that. Saturday - cozy 32 degree Celsius - and a lovely Gin from Switzerland called ORMA. Normally Orma does Whisky. This gin is well balanced and aged in rosé wine barrels. An interesting way to age gin - and it works. Best serve with hibiscus pro filler from Schweppes. This one I have tried with Double Dutch Tonic (Pomgrenade & Basil) - sounds experimental- and it IS!
