Zuidam Rogge Genever

This very special genever combines the spiciness of the RYE grain mixed with fresh flavors of the juniper, licorice and aniseed.

The rye spirit is then triple distilled in a small pot still from a 100% Rye grain mash. The new rye spirit is aged in new American oak barrels for a minimum of five years. After that period of time, the botanicals are added before reduction to a drinking strength.

Pot still distilled from: 100% Rye, 50% Malted Rye, 50% Unmalted Rye
Botanicals: Juniper, Licorice, Aniseed.
Age: No Age Statement as botanicals are added right before bottling.
Cask type: 200 litre Virgin/New American Oak.
Labelling: All bottles are hand labelled with a ribbon and a gold wax seal.

Tasting notes:

Nose: Rye spice with vanilla, toffee, cinnamon and some anise.
Flavour: Rich notes of oak, toffee and fudge with some Licorice.
